Battle of the Bulge
scenario was based
on that epic World War
Two battle pitting the
embattled and increasingly-desperate German military
against the American and British
allies as they liberated Europe from
the Nazis. The German military, under the
command of Adolf Hitler, devised an offensive intended to drive a wedge between
the American and British portions of the
advancing Allied line by forcing an elite
armor-led spearhead through their lightly-defended center. In the frigid winter
of 1944, the Germans rolled forward
with heavy tanks and experienced
early success, smashing the American forces that lay before them and
pushing a bulge into the Allied line
that would give the ensuing battle
its name. As the weather was too
poor to allow the stunned Allies to
bring their air superiority to bear
