Oklahoma D-Day 2013 and beyond
“What it is what it shall be what it was”
eas of the field throughout the day that put massive amounts of points in front of the command staffs on both sides. The total number of these points throughout the day were more than the combined points for owning all the objectives on the field all day long. This through a monkey wrench into the plans of both allied in German commands as we had to form new battle plans on the fly. I can tell you that it was a lot of fun. In the end the total margin of victory for the Allies for the game on Saturday was 200 points (one of the two closest games in the history of D-Day) Audible calls kept both sides on the field all day long until this year’s game was shortened by 45 minutes because of a massive lightning and thunderstorms at the end of the day. During the week there were two games each day so players had many opertunities to hit the filed. There was one game using the Audible format the other using a standard “just take sides” and go out and play perspective and it was a lot of fun for everyone. 2014 looks to be even better than 2013 so if you did not attend this year it is now time to sign up and you will not be disappointed. There are narrow registration Windows online that will allow you to register before the game and I advise everyone to register during these windows as soon as possible. 2014 will also have a two day game format with beach attacks on Friday and inland gameplay on Saturday. You can expect the game plan Saturday to be about the same length as in years past with the beach assaults being shorter to keep from being too warn out. In my opinion this will allow players to have the best of both worlds. We have also been told with the field is being changed to play east to west instead of north and south I personally cannot wait for 2014 to start.
