Throughout history there are events that change the dynamics of our world . Fresh , innovative minds are always creating enhancements to our lives , tools utilized to discover and grow . The paintball world is no stranger to advancement and change , upgrades and new ideas are being delivered every year to keep our hobby fresh and competitive . The scenario world is a melting pot of players , fields and producers . Eager producers and field owners need to be consistently looking for ways to improve the players ’ experience . As necessity is the mother of invention , every so often it breeds an event that sees imagination and competition collide in a supernova fashion , a collision that would forever change the fabric of scenario paintball . Players in Fayetteville , NC on September 12th and 13th witnessed a true game changing event , after much anticipation , Ghost Recon had finally arrived .
Ghost Recon was the collaboration of a Mission Masters production with a Black Ops Paintball set . As the entirety of paintball continued to face cancellations and delays throughout 2020 as well as lower than expected attendance and changes to operating procedures , many feared this event would not take place . Black Ops has become a household name in the paintball community . They continue to strive for the player , not just the average scenario player but the rentals , first strike mag-fed players and the tourney ballers .
Day one was filled with so many emotions and fire , people were seeing lost friends and family , as they were coming out of this long hibernation , they were ready to commune and fight ! The lines were drawn , the sides were set , the missions were ready . 200 + players were briefed by their commanders and they were ready to shake off the months of isolation , they were ready to allow the internal demons a chance to breathe .
The commanders were handed their first mission documents , the list of objectives was long and grueling , their troops would be divided as would their points . They gave their commands to their armies and could only hope for the best , only the smart and strong will survive . The teams were at their marks , the time was now , the air was right . The horn screeches through the air and warriors race , claw and fight for every inch they can take from their opponent , for every inch is one closer to the objective . The red team , having amassed a larger army , did see domination early . The blue team allowed the attendance numbers to beat them early off , but once they realized how the game was going to be played their minds and hearts changed . The fight that both these teams showed throughout the first five missions was impressive , though the red team continued to lead in the points , their domination waned quickly .
Blue fought at every angle they could , they were steadfast and not giving an inch . Mission Masters divides the fields up making each mission on a narrow playing field . This creates a more intense and consistent fire fight ; it also allows small variances in team sizes to disappear . Though the first day had belonged to the Red team , it had not been won easily and the difference in the score did not reflect the differences in the teams . Blue team had learned that it is not the size of the dog in the fight but rather the size of the fight in the dog . Day two was already panning out to be one spectacular battle .
