Down a level there were 26 teams competing in the Semiprofessional division of the NXL Sunshine State Major . Across the entire division there were only three teams that each won their four prelim games : The Hurricanes , The New Orleans Hurricanes and Annapolis A-Team . By the time the Semipro quarterfinals were over the Hurricanes and the New Orleans Hurricanes were still standing heading to the semifinals . And they were joined there by Carolina Crisis and Indianapolis Mutiny .
In the semis it was the Hurricanes drubbing a really strong Indianapolis Mutiny team 8-3 and Carolina Crisis beating the New Orleans Hurricanes 4-3 . In the Semipro finals the Hurricanes beat Carolina Crisis 6-3 in a pretty decisive one-way battle . Mutiny beat the New Orleans Hurricanes to take third place in the Semipro division .
Twenty teams entered Division Two Xball at the Sunshine State Major , including teams and players from Jamaica , Colombia , Mexico , Venezuela and all over the U . S .
Austin Notorious and Jamaica ’ s TNB were the only teams to win their four first-round games in Division Two . Austin Notorious would only get as far as the quarterfinals where they were sent home by KC Missouri All Stars . TNB would eventually meet the KC Missouri All Stars in the finals for a shot at first place . And in the finals TNB did what they ’ ve done the entire event — win . TNB finished in 11th place at the opening event in Texas and followed that up with a great first place showing here in Florida . Congrats to TNB for becoming the first-ever team from Jamaica to win a major D2 event in the U . S .
The largest division at the Sunshine State Major was Division Three with its 31 teams . Out of the gate the Dallas Ballers Club and the Philadelphia A ’ s looked like the teams to beat , each blasting their way to four easy first-round wins . OBR , Space Cadets , TNB , New York Brave , Seattle Ninjas , Arsenal X , Wisconsin Infamous and ac : Kansas City each won three prelim games .
