NXL what ? Lonestar Amateur Open ? Wait , what ? Okay boys and girls it ’ s not 2019 anymore and things in the world have changed thanks to this thing we call COVID-19 . And as the world figures out how to proceed in 2021 the National Xball League ’ s ( NXL ) format and event schedule for this season looks unfamiliar .
What was once and almost always a fiveevent season in professional paintball in the U . S ., is now six events for 2021 , including four Major events and two Amateur Open events . The four Majors ( Kissimmee , Philadelphia , Chicago and Kissimmee World Cup ) will have all of the bells and whistles we ’ re all accustomed to , including a full Professional Xball schedule and nearly twenty other divisions . The two Amateur Open events , like the one we ’ re reporting on here include Division Two Xball , Division Three Xball , Division Four Xball , and three , five-man divisions .
For the NXL Lonestar Amateur Open 83 eager-to-play paintball teams began to arrive at Giant Party Sports Paintball in Parker , Texas , just north of Dallas midweek ahead of the scheduled March 19th start date . Teams and players from all over the U . S . as well as Mexico and Jamaica entered the 2021 Lonestar Amateur Open . The event , like most NXL events not called the World Cup , ran for three days , Friday through Sunday .
