Women’ s Paintball & Outside Awareness

Women’ s paintball in Europe has been another sore point up til now- the WNXL in the US started with a big bang, currently has 10 season teams and even has a waiting list. Europe has basically lagged behind with only three consistent season teams for the last 3 years- Belladonna, Karma, and Drakaina( in order of their final 2025 season ranking).
There’ s light at the end of the tunnel, though. A fourth WNXL Europe team has been announced for 2026- Sposed Competition- comprising 100 % French players, which should liven things up. More national women’ s teams have come back up( hello, Italy and Netherlands!). The next step would be to introduce more NEW women( and men) to the sport and bring them up to par to be able to compete.
A big factor in that is what tournament paintball worldwide continues to lack- awareness outside of the industry. The US is taking steps to correct this- having paintball aired once more on ESPN was a giant milestone. Europe has a ways still- but bringing back divisionals is a start. The larger the numbers, the more interesting it is to media organizations. However, that’ s another topic for another day, really.
All in all, we’ ve ended the season on a high note. Let’ s see what 2026 holds.
