National Xball League Europe( NXLE)
The National Xball League has been running events in the U. S. since taking over the league at the PSP’ s( Paintball Sports Promotions) demise in 2015. Since then the NXL has done nothing but grow the series event by event, season by season every year— with events routinely drawing hundreds of teams, culminating with the World Cup each year in Orlando with team counts into the 600s. Last season’ s World Cup drew 637 teams across 24 divisions.
In 2018, three years after acquiring / taking over the PSP, the NXL did the same in Europe, taking over the reigns of the Millennium Series, who had been operating the biggest pro / am series in Europe for 20 years. The tournament scene was shrinking in Europe leading up to the NXL taking the reigns— and then COVID-19 hit and the 2020 season and tournament paintball in Europe was put on hold. Five years later— and an abbreviated four-event schedule--and the events are gaining momentum again. Worldwide tournament paintball is on the rise.
For 2025 the NXLE held four events— two Pro / Semipro Invitationals and two Open events. The Bor, Czechia and European Championships in Drux, France were open to teams of all skill levels in all divisions. The Portugal and British Invitations were Pro and Semipro events only.
The Games
Professional Xball
The NXLE Pro division is made up of 20 teams, including iconic franchises like Scalp, Breakout Spa, Paris Camp Carnage, Manchester Firm, Ranger Warsaw and the last two event winners, Lucky 15s Staffordshire and Joy Division. Coming into Dreux, France, Joy Division and Breakout Spa sat atop the season’ s leaderboard. Hanging out near the top were Lucky 15s Staffordshire, LTF and Ranger Warsaw. With only this NXLE season finale left, it was really a five-team race in the quest to win the season’ s ranking battle.
From the outset Lucky 15s Staffordshire looked the part of defending champions— winning all four of their preliminary round games— and only one of the games was close. London Attrition, Breakout Spa, Scalp, Paris Camp Carnage, Joy Division, Austin FSU, Ronholt Dynamite, and Ranger Warsaw each won three prelim games.
In the Pro ocho rounds Ronhold Dynamite knocked off a very strong Joy Division team 4-3 and LTF, the only two-win Pro team moving on, beat Paris Camp Carnage 5-0. That would be the end of the line for upstart LTF who were shut-out 5-0 by Lucky 15s Staffordshire in the quarterfinals. London Attrition, Breakout Spa and Ranger Warsaw each won their quarterfinal round games to move on to the semis.
