He even had sambal chilli from Malaysia and prepared his signature Ayam Sambal with rice, bringing a comforting taste of home to Paris. Meals, whether homemade by the team’ s player-chefs or experiencing local French fare, kept the team together, reminding everyone that paintball is as much about family as it is about competition.
Matches were intense in a division filled with both seasoned and developing talent, especially with a 10-player roster that demanded constant rotations under the Mercy-2 format. Balancing equal playtime with the desire to win proved to be a challenge. Dharma Danial reflected:“ Before committing, we realised team goals need to be clear. Are we here to win or to have fun? Winning requires hard choices, and sometimes not everyone gets equal time. Losing hurts, and team morale takes a beating.”
Yet, what stood out most was the sense of growth for Malaysian paintball. A 15-yearold player, Joseph, from Selangor stepped onto the field, cheered on by his father who supported his dream of competing internationally. That moment, for many, symbolised the bright future of Malaysian paintball- the next generation already gaining priceless international experience.
