The partnership between Red Feather and Blastcamp has been just as important as the location itself. Year after year the field staff have supported new mechanics and ambitious ideas, no matter how wild they sounded on paper. At the same time, they have remained committed to maintaining fun and safety as the core of the event. This collaboration has allowed Mad Max to evolve into something truly unique.

Resources

and

Hard

Choices

The modern format of the game revolves around three resources: Fuel, Water, and Ammo. Teams must complete missions and gather props tied to each resource, with the ultimate goal of controlling enough to secure victory.
This structure sounds simple at first, but it quickly becomes overwhelming. More
than 130 missions were written for Mad Max X. Every thirty minutes commanders are presented with three missions. They can only choose two, and the third is destroyed without ever being revealed. Every choice has weight. Do you secure water to keep your team supplied, or do you gamble on fuel in hopes of pulling ahead later? The constant flow of missions forces leaders to think several steps ahead, while also adapting to the chaos unfolding in real time.
Adding to the tension are the seven flag stations scattered across the field. Each is tied to one of the three resources, making some zones far more valuable than others depending on a team’ s current needs. Commanders must decide whether to spread forces thin to cover more ground or consolidate for a stronger push. No matter what they choose, there is always a cost.
