In the semifinals Scalp came out on fire , taking it to the TonTons with aggressive play across the field . In the end it was Scalp 7 , Tontons 5 in a great game to watch . Scalp moves one step closer to a Pro season sweep . In the other semifinals matchup , it was Lucky 15s Staffordshire over a strong Ronholt Dynamite 3-2 .
It ’ s been a very solid season so far for Lucky 15s Staffordshire as they progress towards becoming one of Europe ’ s best Pro teams . With a 7th place finish in Portugal and a 3rd place finish in the British Invitational in the books , Lucky 15s Staffordshire are poised to win their first Pro NXL event — but they face a beast of a machine as Scalp awaits .
Lucky 15s Staffordshire again played a very strong game , hanging with Scalp from start to finish . In the end it just wasn ’ t enough as Scalp does what seemed impossible , sweeping an entire Pro season ! The final score was 4-3 Scalp over Lucky 15s Staffordshire .
The WNXL , Women ’ s Professional Xball
Six Professional woman ’ s teams entered the 2024 NXL European Championships here in Dreux , France — from the US , Spain , Norway , Belgium , Malaysia and Finland . Airforce One from the US was the only team to max out their four preliminary round games — four games , four wins . Spain ’ s Karma won three preliminary round games and Drakaina and Belladonna each won two .
Karma beat Drakaina 6-2 and Air Force One shut out Belladonna 5-0 in the semifinals — setting up an Air Force One versus Karma final-round match . Air Force One is a team made up of some of the best female players in America , with members from the Heroines , Destiny , Vibe and Femme Fatales . And just like every game that got them to the finals , Air Force One came out red hot . In the end they just blew past Karma 5-0 to win the WNXL division .
Divisional Xball
Twenty-six teams entered the Semipro division here in Druex . Germany ’ s Ballistics Goettingen and Stockholm Ignition have battled at the top of the first two events at a shot to win the season title . Each team has a firstplace finish and another podium finish . Ugly Ducklings , Toulouse Purple and SL Benfica all have an outside shot at the title as well after two events .
In the Semiprofessional preliminary rounds Happening Leopoldsburg from Belgium won all four of their games including a nice win over Ballistics Goettingen , a team that rarely loses . America ’ s Freedom and Independence , a team with five players 18 years old or younger swept their four games as well . And it didn ’ t go unnoticed by me that Anthony Vitale and Lori Miller of Boston Paintball and BKi Summer Camps ( among others ) are their coaches . No other Semipro team managed to win their first four games .
