Normally by 2pm the “ Spoils of War ” begins , this is when the Red and Blue sides have two hours to take control of a predetermined base and all the players that conquer the base will receive beads . But there is a twist , depending on what type of paintball marker you are using will determine how many beads said player will get . This just adds to some of the difficult decisions commanders must make early on . Do they want more heavy gunners to take the base or do they want more beads that equate to more points ?
The teams get a brief break to lick their wounds and gather their troops to prepare for “ Night Ops ” and this is exactly what it sounds like . This part of the game is not for the faint of heart . Once the sun goes down and you can ’ t see anything but stars in the sky the game begins . For two hours both teams play unlimited reincarnation with two objectives , one for each hour . If you have never played paintball in the dark guided by glow sticks and moonlight you have never truly played paintball . By this point most players reading this would say “ that ’ s a hell of a weekend ” but remember , that was just Friday !
Let ’ s move on to Saturday , where the game takes a complete turn and now the commanders have specific objectives for every hour . Each commander must really figure out their best strategy to be able to take said base ( within the allotted time ) without losing their position on other parts of the field . This may sound easy , but you may have forgotten one small detail , which is that you have a Yellow Renegade General that is lurking in the woods and you never know if they are there to help you or stop you . By the end of Saturday , most people have already played more paintball in two days then they play all month and there is still one more day of play left .
