In the UPBF Women X-Ball the German women came out on an absolute tear, wining each of their four games by a score of 4-0— that’ s 16-0 in four games. The American squad also ran the table in the preliminary rounds with a plus 10 point differential. Team Netherlands won three of four first round games and France won two.
In the Women’ s semifinals the Germans beat France in a tough battle, and the United States knocked of the Netherlands. As many predicted in pre-event web chatter, the championship would come down to two powerhouse teams: The United States versus Germany. The two undefeated teams faced off in the finals and the game was everything you could have hoped for as a fan of women’ s international play. In the end the Americans held off the Germans in a game that came down to the wire, 3-2 USA. The French women, a powerhouse team in their own right, beat the Netherlands women 4-1 in the consolation game.
Twenty National teams entered the UPBF Veterans( over 40) Xball Nations Cup from as far as the United States, Mexico, Brazil, Columbia, and of course, all around Europe.
