Nations Cup

If the 2026 NXL European Championships were a showcase for the growing depth of European paintball, the Nations Cup provided something more personal: a chance for the continent’ s best national programs to measure themselves directly against the United States.
And Poland took that opportunity.
The final of the 2026 UPBF Men’ s World Championship was more than a 4 – 1 scoreline. It was the moment a Polish program that had been knocking on the door for years finally broke through— and it was led by players whose experience had been building across Europe’ s highest levels.
At the center of Poland’ s breakthrough was Dariusz Linkiewicz. The veteran was subsequently recognized as the tournament MVP, completing an extraordinary week in Dreux in which he also won the NXL European Pro Championship with Ranger Warsaw and finished runner-up with Poland Veterans. His three-team, three-medal performance made him one of the defining figures of the entire event.
Poland defeated Germany 4 – 2 in the quarterfinal and then produced a statement 4 – 0 semifinal against Great Britain. The final presented an even larger challenge: the United States had gone unbeaten through preliminaries, conceding just one point across four matches.
For the Americans, that preliminary record remains an important part of the story. They entered the championship match having looked almost untouchable, then defeated Portugal 4 – 1 and Mexico 3 – 1 in the knockout rounds. The roster represented the extraordinary depth of the American program, and its silver medal came in a tournament where the United States captured four of the five available world titles.
But Poland had the answer when it mattered.
