Veckring Big Game # 80!
For the second time this year, the legendary Paintball Veckring opened its gates to host the 80th edition of the Big Game Veckring. While the forecast of heavy rain kept numbers lower than anticipated, the event still saw an impressive 608 players take the field, down from the more than 850 originally expected.
An International Gathering
True to tradition, the Veckring Big Game drew teams from across Europe. Germany’ s Expedition group— 55 strong under the leadership of General Ken— pushed the red team with relentless energy all weekend. From the Netherlands came the Blackhawks and De Beer Clan, celebrating their 10th anniversary. Luxembourg was well represented with squads like Blue Falcon, Evil Rabbit, Last Wolves, SIU, and Crazy Hugs. France turned out in force with Zanimos, Vikings, Bigouden Warriors, Slamjack, TBH, Rapas, and many others. Belgium added powerhouses like PBCL, Blue Devils, and Shaft, while players also traveled in from Switzerland, Italy, and Bulgaria.
Weather, Referees, and Atmosphere
Despite the rich diversity of teams, this edition didn’ t quite capture the atmosphere many hoped for. The weather dampened spirits, and referee numbers were stretched thin. Still, the games pressed on with the same passion and resilience that defines Veckring.
