Coming into the Windy City Open Red Legion ( formerly known as Russian Legion ), stood at the top of the heap by a fairly wide margin with a thirdplace finish and two first place finishes in the league ’ s previous three events . Houston Heat , San Antonio X-Factor , Seattle Uprising , Chicago Aftershock , Tampa Bay Damage and Edmonton Impact were all mathematically alive in the rankings race coming into Chicago , but were all longshots for sure . And with two events left , counting this one , anything is still possible .
The Pro Xball Games
In the four-game preliminary rounds , Red Legion , Edmonton Impact and
Tampa Bay Damage all dominated their brackets , each sweeping their four games . Only San Antonio X-Factor and Chicago Aftershock managed to win three of four first-round games . With ten of the twenty teams advancing this left a quagmire of two-win teams vying for five spots . Of those nine teams with two wins it was Houston Heat , Los Angeles Ironmen , PaintballFIT and Los Angeles Infamous who did enough to make the cut . ( Note : The tie-breaker for advancing to Sunday play was average margin of victory .) Notably missing from Sunday play was San Diego Dynasty .
In the ochofinals first year Pros PaintballFIT knocked off longtime Pros Los Angeles Infamous 2-1 . And in the second ochofinals matchup , Seattle Uprising beat the Los Angeles Ironmen 3-1 . www . paintball . media
