Come stage time , it was Nordon , Easter , and Ross who would open a treasure chest to find it full of gold ingots stamped with the Ohana PB turtle , and be declared victorious .
It is rare that a new game by a new production company should be hosted at a new field . Especially today when the key components , the so-called “ infrastructure ” of the sport of paintball are already established . It ’ s likely that this generation of players will never have the opportunity to experience this trifecta of firsts . So , in order to commemorate this historic event , one of the many concrete catch basins brought in to build the heart of this field was designated as a cornerstone . Every player who attended the event had an opportunity to sign the concrete block which will soon be sealed and placed atop the other concrete blocks for the life of the field .
Solstice Law came out to officiate the game , taking care of safety , missions and even lending a hand in refuse removal in support of the field staff . With their support , the event ran smoothly and no injuries were reported .
As always with Honu events , the campground was as eventful as the field . The majority of the attendees would camp on site . If debauchery could be held to standard , this is quite possibly where it is set , and the shenanigans were most certainly afoot , and not fit for public retelling .
Vendors at the event included Deadbox , Social Paintball , Nova , Handmade Headbands , and Planet Eclipse . And of course , the legendary Carter ’ s Carolina BBQ came out to give the players a sampling of some genuine , quality Carolina barbecue .
All said , with a tremendous tribute to the players who made it so , the inaugural Black Flag was a success . Many will look to return to the next Ohana PB event , Scorched Earth , which is set to be hosted at Black Ops Paintball , Fayetteville , NC March 7-9 of next year . www . paintball . media
