Cousins Tournament Series Event # 2 came a couple months after the initial tournament that marked the return of competitive paintball to Long Island . There were many questions to be answered ; could Ground Zero Red follow up their Event # 1 win ? Were the younger teams progressing fast enough to catch up to the veterans and would the Puffy Bunker Bois have another amazing playlist to keep the party rolling ?
After a week of brutal weather , with temperatures in the 90 ’ s and complete humidity , Sunday brought with it perfect paintball environments , high 70 ’ s and not a cloud in the sky , we couldn ’ t ask for more . As an almost repeat of Event 1 , there were 15 3-Player teams broken into three brackets of five . Bracket One had Rockets Trios , Overshot Factory , Vigilante 3 , LIDR and GZ Red . Bracket Two brought together Event 1 Silver Place medalists Northside , C . B . K ., Slugking , Puffy Bunker Bois and returning from the early 21st century , The LI Dark Riders . The third bracket contained NY Slugs , Shakedown , Vigilantes , Gabba Goons and a free agent team called B . A . B .
As the action kicked off , it was clear the GZ was going to have a hard time following up their success earlier in the year when they lost their first two matches against Rockets Trios and Overshot , who went on to dominate their division , LIDR ’ s wild ,
