WNXL Women ’ s Pro Xball League
The Windy City marked the second event of this season for the Professional Women ’ s Division , WNXL . The previous WNXL event , the Sunshine State Open , saw Destiny take first place followed by the Chesapeake Cheetahs , Heroines , and Femmes Fatale .
In the Windy City preliminary rounds , the Heroines came out on fire with four noteven-close victories in four games , giving up zero points until the late-afternoon on Saturday in their matchup against the Cheetahs .
This event was the first for the St . Louis Arch Angels following a dramatic bow-out of the league by the Sacramento Diamonds in late- June . Having thrown a squad together only weeks before this Windy City event , the team put together a solid showing and held their own . The Angels won their first-ever matchup , winning 3-2 the Northern Lights , and stood tall in a respectable 5-4 loss to the Femmes Fatale on Saturday .
There has been a marked improvement across the board as these women continue to gel . The New Jersey High Rollers , a 2023 expansion team , missed finals by a mere four points . But there is a clear top three emerging in this eight-team division .
Destiny and the Cheetahs each won three of four carrying them to the finals . And in the end , it was the Heroines who reigned victorious once again , topping the Cheetahs 2-1 .
Competition remains tight at the top of this league . After two events , Heroines and Destiny are tied with 193 seed points , and the Cheetahs are nipping at their heels only one point behind . Expect to see intense battles and some fireworks when the season wraps in November at World Cup .
Division Xball Games
Division Two Xball was more of what we ’ ve been seeing all season … teams like Shut Up We ’ re Trying , New York Wrecking Crew , Noobies , TPP Totem , Dynamic , TCP Machine , Malicious and LoneWolfPB all making it to the quarterfinals . In the end Shut Up We ’ re Trying bested New York Wrecking Crew 5-2 in the finals for the win .
TPPCrew beat MW Tribe to win Division Three Xball ; Jackpot beat Noobies to take first place in Divison Four Xball ; Houston Zone took care of Wastelanders to take Division Five Xball ; Extreme Rage won the 10 versus 10 , the 7 versus 7 and the 5 versus 5 Open Divisions ; Struggle won Division Three 5 versus 5 ; TKO Texas Knockout took Division Four 5 versus 5 ; BC Boys beat SMSC to take Division Five 5 versus 5 ; and Suricatos Women beat San Francisco Sirens to take first place in the Women ’ s Amateur WNXL . www . paintball . media
