2023 National Xball League Coverage
PMI quickly became a dominant force in the game . They created their own marker line , manufactured by Benjamin Sheridan . They partnered with RP Scherer to create their own branded line of paintballs . And within a few years were the paintball distributor giants , dwarfing their predecessors , the National Survival Game .
Meanwhile the National Survival Game had its own national tournament series , which began in 1983 and one of its tour stops was Chicago . Later , Jim Lively and Sam Caldwell created the Lively Series of paintball events , also hosting yearly events in Chicagoland . As the game moved into the 1990s , the National Professional Paintball League ( NPPL ) formed . Their founding meeting was held in Chicago as was a yearly league event for almost a decade . The PSP ( Paintball Sports Promotions ) followed suit with a yearly Chicago tournament as did the National Xball League , which of course brings us through the 2023 season .
The Chicago area was also home to companies like Airgun Design , Air America and others as well as historic fields like Challenge Park Xtreme , Badlandz and Fox Paintball .
2023 National Xball League Coverage
The National Xball League ( NXL ) once again brought its traveling paintball show to Gaelic Park in Oak Forest , a suburb of Chicago . The Windy City Major was the fourth of five major events on the NXL ’ s 2023 pro / am paintball circuit . It ’ s been quite a ride in the NXL in recent years . In the Pro Division San Diego Dynasty has won seven major events since mid-2021 but it was Tampa Bay Damage that put an end to their most recent three-event win streak in Philly .
For the past 15 years the NXL Pro division has been a league of streaks . Since 2009 , Russian Legion , Tampa Bay Damage , Houston Heat , San Diego Dynasty , Art Chaos
