The Games
There were surprises galore in the Pro division . Top ranked Edmonton Impact , who rarely lose a preliminary round game , lost two in Chicago — one to Columbus LVL , who swept their preliminary round games , and another to Tampa Bay Damage , who missed the Sunday cut . Moscow Red Legion , another team that rarely loses , lost three of their first-round games and were sent packing after the minimum four games . In the same bracket , San Diego Dynasty won all of the preliminary round games , surprising no one . Los Angeles Infamous swept bracket three in the Pro division , while NRG Elite took three of their four games . Houston Heat blew through the fourth bracket with ease , San Antonio X-Factor won three of their four and ac : Dallas managed only one preliminary round win .
And the surprises didn ’ t end there .
In the ocho finals it was the Portland Uprising over the LA Ironmen 6-3 . And in another shocker , Baltimore Revo knocked off Edmonton Impact , sending them home short of even a quarterfinal appearance and an eye-opening 10th place finish . And if that wasn ’ t enough , Revo then beat Houston Heat in the quarterfinals . Can you name the last time neither Edmonton Impact and Houston Heat made it to the semifinals in the same event ? Yeah , we can ’ t either . The other three quarterfinal games saw Los Angeles Infamous dismantled Portland Uprising 7-1 ; San Diego Dynasty beating NRG Elite 7-3 ; and San Antonio X-Factor dominating Columbus LVL 7-1 . www . paintball . media
