Gellets are available from Gel Blaster and Valken in various colors and quantities , along with collapsible ammo tubs with a strainer lid that make growing your own ammo simple and convenient – simply dump your ammo into the water in the bucket , leave it ( or watch it grow like we do ) until it ’ s fully hydrated , and then when it ’ s time to play , simply strain away the excess water , load up and get blasting with Gel Blaster !
Speaking of blasting , the tool you use to blast those GelBlaster Gellets back and forth at each other is called the GelBlaster Surge and this thing is impressive . The GelBlaster Surge is a pistol-sized electronic gun that is powered by an internal battery and requires no external air sources or replaceable battery power source to make it run . The battery is easily charged and recharged with an included USB-C power cable and the Surge can shoot thousands of full-powered shots with just a few hours of charge ! That ’ s where the low-impact stuff comes in , by the way , as the GelBlaster Surge blasts at approximately 150 feet per second and around 8-10 shots per second .
That ’ s right : flip the switch to on and hold the trigger down for low-impact rock and roll . All that full auto firepower needs feeding , so included with every GelBlaster Surge is a grenade-shaped ( and roughly grenade sized ) hopper that threads onto the top of the Surge and holds around 800 gellets ! Simply scoop a hopper-full of hydrated Gellets from your ammo tub , thread the hopper onto the top of the Surge and it ’ s go-time ! Also included with the Surge in the box is a set of safety glasses , all that ’ s necessary for most players as the Surge shoots at such low velocity . However , Valken does offer and recommends their Gotcha MI-3 goggles for use with the Surge , especially with younger players , as it fully protects the eyes and face , and includes a strap that goes over the top of the player ’ s head to keep the goggle safe and secure for players of all ages , even the youngest ones that most paintball goggles simply won ’ t fit .
Making things even more convenient , the Valken R & D people have developed an adapter for the GelBlaster Surge that allows
