COVID-19 has certainly been hard on European competitive paintball the past 18 months . What has been a four-event schedule every year ( or more ) dating back to the Millennium Series , before the National Xball League took over the league , is now a one-event season , thanks to the aforementioned COVID-19 and all of restrictions on gatherings and travel in Europe ( and the world ). Fast forward to the last event of the season ( also known as the first event of the season ), the European Paintball Championships , held in beautifully stunning Chantilly , France .
The venue for the NXL European Paintball Championships of Paintball was the Hippodrome de Chantilly — a familiar site for those playing the league the past few seasons . The picturesque Hippodrome is located right in Chantilly , walking distance to restaurants , shopping and those amazing French pastries and croissants ( enough reason to play this event on its own ).
In all there were 112 teams in attendance at the NXL European Championships , spread across a dozen divisions .
