The squad was able to progress into British rear positions undetected and took out numerous players by complete surprise , entering Charlestown and eventually squeezing the British between themselves and the Colonial / British front line . However , without hope for reinforcement , the force slowly dwindled until only three were left holding out . They continued to fight , looking for the final flipstick , symbolically taking down British flags , until , at last , they were eliminated themselves .
With the end of the second mission block , the Colonials continue to hold their lead over the British in points and enter the final battle in a strong position . But the British are not out of the fight yet .
Mission Block 3 : Final Battle / Attack on Charlestown
Up to this point , the Colonials had mostly been fighting a defensive battle . Now , they get to go on the offensive . The final battle between the British and the Colonials centers around two mission objectives . The Colonials are fighting to take the British flag out of Charlestown by the end of the end of the mission block , and the British are seeking to prevent this . At this point in the day , both sides were tired , sweaty , and hitting their limits , but a dedicated few remained on the field to take part in the final battle .
The British made numerous attempts to use the western-most part of the field to flank the Colonials and surround them at their insertion point . However , a group led by XO Luke “ Killa-B ” Miller was able to blunt their advance , and push them back to their side of the field . XO Scott Forbes commanded the Colonial center and attempted to push the British back to open a path into Charlestown . However , the British proved to be stubborn in their final defense of their positions , and the final battle appeared to be destined to end in a stalemate , which is exactly what the British wanted .
While Colonial numbers began to dwindle , and the chances of taking Charlestown grew slimmer and slimmer , Colonial General Moseley , discovered that the British were attempting to secure a prop cannon as their special mission for the final battle . The Colonials , leading at the time , were not given a mission of their own to complete , so Moseley concluded that if the British were able to hold Charlestown and secure the cannon , their lead may be in jeopardy . The Colonials were quickly redirected toward locating and securing the prop cannon for themselves . The left flank under XO Miller pivoted and pushed toward the center , clearing out numerous British players and opening up a path further up the hill toward Charlestown . In this now open area of the field , the cannon was found , and General Moseley directed all players in the vicinity to focus on taking it .
A first wave attempted to secure the prop cannon , but they were stopped by British fire . A second wave of three players , including Kyle Walsh of the Dirty Sweat Shirts , Colonial MVP nicknamed “ Bubblegum ”, and General Moseley himself prepared to make their move . General Moseley took up Bubblegum ’ s maker and the three players went for the cannon with Kyle Walsh literally picking up the cannon himself and walking it back to Colonial lines while “ Bubblegum ” acted as a human shield as General Moseley provided suppressive fire . General Moseley and Bubblegum moved the cannon to the rear of Colonial controlled territory , thus preventing the prop from falling into British hands .
With less than 10 minutes remaining in the final battle , it appeared as though the British would retain control of Charlestown . The Colonials had made steady progress throughout the final battle , but had seemingly lost all momentum with the clock ticking town . However , after securing the British cannon , and having seemingly nothing to lose , General Moseley called for a general attack by all Colonial forces .
