More than 300 players made the trip to Liberty Paintball Games in Patterson , NY for Buffalo Paintball ’ s Battle of Bunker Hill scenario event . British General Devon “ Skarface ” Schwartz was pitted against Colonial General Kristopher “ Teach ” Moseley in a battle for field control , flag capture , flip-sticks , and prop retrieval .
Mission Block 1 : Attack Bunker Hill As the Colonials prepared for the opening whistle , General Moseley divided his forces into four Companies under the command of his three XOs , Scott Forbes ( Dirty Sweatshirts ), Luke “ Killa-B ” Miller ( Darkside Misfits ), and Hercules Papadogiannis ( Undertakers Paintball Inc .) and designated Captain Stephen “ Sandworm ” Pound ( SAS Connecticut ). The opening mission for the Colonials was a challenging one . They would immediately be under attack and would need to defend three flag positions at “ Breed ’ s Hill ”, “ Moulton ’ s Hill ”, and “ Bunker Hill ”. The terrain was hilly , rocky , and thick with brush , making rapid maneuvers difficult . However , a Colonial player who goes by the nickname , “ Bubblegum ”, and is Liberty Paintball field regular volunteered to lead the way .
Off the sound of the opening whistles , the British were able to quickly make their way into Colonial territory on “ Breed ’ s Hill ” and , unbeknownst to the Colonials at the time , took the first of three Colonial flags . The British were out to an early lead . British and Colonial forces met on the western side of “ Breed ’ s Hill ” and the Colonial forces managed to push past the bridge and up the hill , forcing the British backward . While this battle was taking place , British and Colonial forces began their first special mission searching for five marked prop bombs that needed to be brought back to their respective bases . The Colonials quickly found one of these props and returned it to General Moseley at his mobile command post , but for over an hour , they were unable to locate any further props . That is until XO Hercules “ Hitman ”
Papadogiannis led a small force on a recon and kill mission into British territory to seek out and eliminate British General Schwartz . They were able to not only sneak past enemy lines , they were able to infiltrate British controlled Charlestown and get a picture of the main British flag held there , as well as three Colonial prop bombs that were hidden here by British forces . Unable to locate the British General , these props were quickly returned across the battle lines to Colonial General Moseley , and earning XO Hercules “ Hitman ” Papadogiannis a field commendation .
The opening battle began at 11:00AM , and was at a stalemate as the clock pushed past noon . The British and Colonials had become entrenched between the British controlled Airstrip and Colonial controlled Breed ’ s Hill . To break the deadlock , the British employed a 30 person tactical insertion behind Colonial lines as well as a tank support on the front lines . The Colonials were caught unprepared for the British tank and quickly began taking losses . However , they held their ground as XOs and General Moseley began a frantic search for grenades or launchers to deal with the threat . It was , however , a surprise when over the radio , General Moseley was made aware by Captain Dan Hamilton that the British tank was down . A Colonial hero , Ken Morton , managed to get close enough to hit the tank with a paintgrenade , just as the Colonial line was beginning to break .
While the Colonial front was dealing with the British tank , General Moseley found himself unarmed and caught between the front lines and an advancing force of approximately 30 British infiltrators , including British General Devon “ Skarface ” Schwartz , who had inserted North of the Colonial positions . This force was initially met by a hurriedly assembled force of Colonial players led by XO Miller and Captains Dan Hamilton , Mike Elward , and Stephen “ Sandworm ” Pound . www . paintball . media
