When the final buzzer sounded, medals were presented under the warm afternoon sun of Zhushan. The view was breathtaking. Imagine rows of tea bushes in the distance, eggplants ripening nearby, and fields of dragonfruit. As the evening approached, the dragonfruit farms began to glow with soft LED lights used by farmers to extend the fruit’ s growing period, transforming the countryside into a twinkling patchwork of color that felt almost magical, like the lights of a bustling Christmas market.
As I walked through the narrow farm roads, I thought about how this quiet, tucked away town had turned into a meeting point for players from all over Taiwan and Asia. A point of convergence that blended excellence, culture and connection in the most enchanting way.
And maybe that is the real beauty of our sport. No matter where you play, between tea hills or dragonfruit lights, paintball has a way of reminding us that competition is not just about winning. It is about being present to experience and live the stories beyond the paint.
