Barney ' s Roughnecks Celebrating Danial " Barney " Alamo ' s 40 years in paintball.
By John Romano: After leaving the Marine Corps, Daniel Alamo heard about this odd game called paintball. In December 1984 he came to visit Jerry Braun ' s field: " Survival New York." Ten years later, he purchased a Bob Long Millennium in a black / purple splash and a pair of purple JT gloves to match. Richard " RT " Travis, the field manager at the time greeted him noticing all this purple on him... a dramatic shift from his traditional camouflage, " What are you Barney?!?"( In reference to a purple dinosaur from a children ' s show at the time.) The people in the area knowing Daniel for sometime began laughing. What they didn ' t know is they reinvented the man from that day forward.
Daniel went on to create teams like Quiet Riot, the RT Raiders, and also joined teams like Blues Crew in 2010 to 2020, and has been a long standing honorary member of The Master Blasters. His command roles including, but not limited to: Living Legends 3 where he was against DJ Honu Fox, and other major events. He really found his stride in a command role, serving as a General for Viper-( Kerry Rosenberry ' s) EMR / Extravaganza events. Barney has, and continues to contribute to the community for over 40 years, taking players under his wing.

These days when not on the field with a marker, he is in a character for roleplay events. Barney continues to inspire newcomers and seasoned players alike. Endless Legends this year, was an opportunity for us to celebrate this man, his achievements, and acknowledge over forty years of his life consistently attending events, and contributing anyway he can.
