The Women ’ s division saw some spicy action beginning in the prelims and carrying through the weekend , right up to the final match .
The weekend started with a matchup between the San Francisco Sirens and the European Champions , Belladonna . With women from Germany , Belgium , Lithuanian amongst others , Belladonna is a formidable team and they showed that out of the gate by taking a fast , 50-second point off of the Sirens . But the Sirens would answer back quickly in a battle of attrition that ended in a 1v1 between the Sirens ’ fiery snake player Audrey Vazquez , and Kim Wohner in the next game . This set the tone for what was to come in the WNXL for this World Cup .
The match would be a back and forth battle from that point forward going into overtime with the Sirens outgunning Belladonna to take away a very narrow 3-2 win .
