Saturday Prelims
Dynamite was probably a good boost .
The reigning champions , Dynasty , continued to fight from an unfamiliar position . Having not seen prelims for three seasons at the World Cup , this was an adjustment to say the least , and Blastcamp seized the opportunity to serve up a punch on the legends . The first two points of that match went quickly , and Blastcamp went up 2-0 . But Dynasty took the shots , cracked their necks , and punched right back going up 4-2 . Blastcamp showed scrap and resilience to the veteran , coming back to take one more point off of them with 5 minutes remaining . At that point , Dynasty clearly had had enough , placed their metaphorical palm on Blastcamp ’ s forehead , and held them in position until time expired . Archie Montemayor would make a rundown to prove a point as the seconds ticked off the clock , cleaning up a three-pack . But there wasn ’ t enough time left to add the punctuation point , so time expired and the match ended 4-3 .
AC : Diesel came out on Friday as well , and rumblings began that , perhaps , this was the weekend that all of the promises for this squad would finally be realized . With the talent-heavy roster , health of the players , and no major conflicts to speak of , there is no reason that Diesel shouldn ’ t be at the top of the pack for the past two seasons , yet for some reason , they have not yet been able to pull it together . Friday started to tell another story .
Starting by issuing a wallop to Rohnholt
They then came in and shocked ‘ Shock . Going up 5-0 , it looked as though they would shut out Chicago Aftershock , and if not for a Nick Sloviac 4-pack in the sixth game of the match , they would have . But the match did go to a 7-1 mercy that surprised everyone . Later in the day , they would topple the Hurricanes guaranteeing their seed into the Quarterfinals and putting them in a hot position with only the Brooklyn Bears remaining to contend with on Saturday .

Saturday Prelims

Friday saw the first of the four champion teams : Red Legion , San Antonio X-Factor , Houston Heat , and the Parisian squad Scalp . With Red Legion clearly the dominant team both in rankings and in this bracket , they made easy business of Scalp and Heat . On Saturday , perhaps the most important match in the bracket would play out between Legion and the number 2 seed X-Factor , with Legion taking a resounding 7-3 victory , it felt clear who the dominant team was here .
Goliath was now in the house . But , surprisingly , it was Infamous that got everyone fired up as they came in to battle New York Xtreme playing as if they had an ax to grind on Saturday morning . NYX was already 0 and 3 going into the match , so they were playing with nothing left to lose , and there was something about this match that felt particularly personal .
