Friday Prelims
patience , whittling the TonTons down , picking them off , and creating an epic one-on-one situation between Fabrice Colombo and Alex Borromeo that would protect Uprising in a 4-1 win . They would come out on top in this match , but not without fireworks . Later in the day , Uprising would stand in tall against Dynasty . They held the Dragon to 3-2 , and came into the final point of the match with a strong break . With only 54 seconds left on the clock , they would drop two bodies and start making a push towards a tie , but their run down ended in a penalty that ultimately left them with a tough loss .
Revo put together some great games with some exciting moments , as well . Caleb Abhul ’ s 3-pack on Blastcamp was probably the most exhilarating , standout move of the day . But when Kyle Bowen dislocated his shoulder on a head-first dive out towards the wire in the match against the TonTons it seemed to be sign of things to come . From that point , things started to unravel a bit for Revo . Taking a 3-4 loss to the Frenchmen , their hopes for a Sunday berth dimmed .
Pro legacy teams Red Legion , Houston Heat , and San Antonio X-Factor would get to wait until Friday to see their first games , and no doubt these highlyanticipated matchups would be ripe with intensity .
Friday Prelims
The vox of Uprising continued on Friday as they put Revo down in a wild overtime match . The first two points would go slow and long , combined taking 11 minutes off of the clock , and then both teams switched gears in a back-and-forth exchange to tie the match up 2-2 . Time would expire in overtime , as both teams locked down zones and were careful not to make any mistakes . This sent the match to 1v1 ’ s . Eliot Weaver of Revo , a veteran of the duel club , would square off against Alec Holland of Uprising for the showdown . Holland shocked everyone , anchoring his position and long balling continuously until Weaver eventually made a mistake and caught a ball to the dome , giving Uprising the unanticipated win .
In the same set , the ML Kings were making a statement of their own , fighting for every inch . On Thursday , they held Impact to a heartbreaking overtime loss , and that momentum carried over to this set where they too would go to overtime against the LA Ironmen . The legendary Tom Guest , who spent the majority of the weekend holding it down , flying around to fill gaps , and owning the center of the field got bested in this matchup with Amin Rodriguez running him down to beat the veteran squad 4-3 . This put the Ironmen in a precarious position headed into Saturday .
Later in the day , the ML Kings would see another determining overtime battle against Impact , this time coming out on the other end of the outcome with Impact wrapping them up 4-3 .
