Firsts & Facts
There have been so many amazing moments at the World Cup over the years .
In 1993 there was the classic finalround battle between the Ironmen , Aftershock and the UK Predators .
In 2001 Russian Legion played their first US event at the World Cup .
In Dynasty ’ s first season as pros in the NPPL in 2001 they shocked the paintball world winning the ‘ Cup . Most of the team was barely out of their teenage years .
And there was the Jeremy Salm / Avalanche sniper incident at the 2002 World Cup that sent Avalanche and the league really , into a tailspin . Watch the documentary about this here ! are legendary , won five of the first seven NPPL World Cups and their six ‘ Cup wins in 10 years gave them more World Cup Pro victories than all other teams combined to that point in history .
In 2006 the Russian Legion would win their first of three World Cups .
In 2016 / 2017 Edmonton Impact won back-to-back World Cups AND season series titles . This was done by Dynasty in 2004 / 2005 but an asterisk goes here since the All Americans , Aftershock , Ironmen and many other top teams were playing the NXL exclusively during that period , lightening the competition for Dynasty those years .
Dynasty now has eight World Cup wins , the most of any Pro team . They are also the only team to win four straight World Cups ( 2020-2023 ).
The World Cup year after year since it has been taken over by the NXL is the largest paintball event in the world in terms of players and teams . It is also the largest paintball tournament trade show in the world .
