“ We were always home from school , and it was just a time to get together ,” said one member of the Penn State Paintball Team .
For the Philadelphia and New Jersey area players , this game has become an annual tradition , and the closeness of the community could be felt as the players heckled one another from across the field .
This game draws out many teams who are mainstays such as Angellic Rage , Sloppy Dawgs , and Valor . But it also pulled in more tournament squads such as Penndragons , and Space Force , who ended up taking Most-Valuable Team for the Blue team .
Historically , this game has been special for Eric “ Big E ” Holland . As owner of the Eastern Paintball League , and co-owner of the Montressor ’ s Mauraders , E keeps his plate full . But this game is particularly special to him . As a teacher in the Philadelphia public schools , he has used this game as an opportunity for community outreach , often sponsoring kids from his class to come participate and learn about paintball .
This year , just to be extra , Big E organized some light trick-or-treating for the youngsters at the field . And he also hosted an absolutely incredible raffle with multiple Hormesis bands , JT Proflexes , a pair of Push goggles , and so much more .
At the end of the day , it was the Gingerbread Mafia and the blue wave that once again came away victorious . Many congratulations to Riley and company . We hope to see you again for a Revenge of the Red Team next season .
