On the morning of October 9th , there seemed to be an eerie tension in the air because the forecast was not all that promising . However , everyone seemed to be in good spirits because we are all gathered to play some paintball at one of the best fields in the country : OXCC - Maryland . Featuring thirteen different locales and sixty-five acres , OXCC needs to be on your bucket list of fields .
CPX , the producer of the Legends events , run a tight ship with registration and paint . They streamline the process by making sure that everyone pre-registers prior to the event to prevent players from not being on the field in a timely manner . Legends events supplies varying paint choices instead of offering the standard “ regular or premium ” grades . Having these options ensures that every marker will be able to perform . Seasoned players will tell you that some markers are very peculiar about what they ’ ll shoot . This oddity always makes me think of the Harry
Potter line from Mr . Ollivander : “ The wand chooses the wizard .”
Following the mandatory Safety Briefing that we all have heard at every game , every time , we got to meet our commanders . Both of them were short on words and not wanting to make big speeches but eager to get the battle underway . Each of them asked for a fun and clean game .
Day One began with a bang and a reality check . The Templars , sporting red armbands , were believing and thinking this year would be the same as last year . However , the Illuminati had other plans . Almost immediately , the blue Illuminati met the growing crescendo red wave on the Templar half of the field . The fighting over “ the berm ”, which separates the field near the entrances and the spawn points , was something out of Would War II . Tooth and nail , bloody and intense , just misses the mark .
