The Misfits didn’ t allow the Savages’ elation to last long, however, and issued a declarative pull and hang in the first match of the finals. It made a statement, but it also set the Misfits apart as the clear winners out of the gate. From that point, everyone else was competing for second place. Adrenaline and LA Xtreme tied once again in their head-to-head match, and leading onto the podium, Xtreme bested Adrenaline by only one body to take home a silver.
Beyond the results themselves, the tournament served as another indicator of the WCPL’ s continued expansion within the Southeastern paintball scene. Events such as the Hate City Open provide emerging players with valuable exposure to organized tournament competition while allowing experienced teams to test themselves against a broad range of opponents. The league’ s structure and accessibility have helped strengthen participation across multiple skill levels, contributing to sustained growth within the regional paintball community.
As always with the WCPL, the off-field experience was a defining aspect. The level of sportsmanship shown between teams and the camaraderie that happens in the pits is unlike other tournament environments. And with the participation of several professional teams, players had the chance to sit on folding chairs and enjoy the company of industry legends in a relaxed environment.
While the competition on the field remained fierce, players consistently supported one another off the field, reinforcing the close-knit culture that makes paintball unique. Teams shared equipment, exchanged advice, and celebrated standout performances regardless of division or final placement.
