Biga said that he intentionally fostered an environment at this game that was conducive to networking in the hopes that some of these players will begin talking to each other outside of the game, collaborating in media production and sharing, and maybe coordinate more meetups.
To do this, he designed the game with a lunch break and a 3-hour dinner break with events happening at the main stage and the Hell’ s famous Tiki bar running concurrently. Perhaps the best feedback came from the MagFed Fashion Show.
“ It’ s so common for these players to spend time at these events out in the parking lot showing off their gear,” Biga said.“ So I figured‘ Why not draw them out of the parking lot and up to the main stage?’”
The“ fashion show” had two categories: one for gun setups, and one for player kits. Biga said it was received and became, not only an opportunity for players to earn bragging rights on their rigs, but also to educate newer players about what merchandise is available to them and where to find it.
On Saturday night, Hells got to showcase some of its latest assets. Drawing upon their experience with Halloween haunts, they have set up LED lighting systems complete with audio speakers, to illuminate sections of the field in the color of their choosing and play music for ambiance. For this event, the lighting over Sin City was illuminated under black light for the night game, which allowed for the use of UV round balls, otherwise known as zombie balls or tracers. Incorporating the use of night vision goggles, players had a fully immersive experience for the night mission.
Sunday’ s game was an attack-and-defend, starting with the red team holding bases and the blue team having to infiltrate the base and arm a bomb. Red team had a strong defense at the beginning of the day, but they would ultimately succumb to the constant pressure. The final battle happened in Sin City with groups starting on the north and south of the field. Teams fought for points using the Ares system using the attached cards to NFC into the system to score points. And in the end, it was Junskii and his blue team that secured the victory for this first-time event.
