from Division Two to Semipro this season, winning the league’ s first event in Tampa. BR Factory, also elevated to Semipro this season, also got off to a hot start, finishing in second place in the Semipros in Tampa. A very nice showing for the two elevated teams.
Five Semipro teams went undefeated in the four-game preliminary rounds: Preferred Mob, BR Factory, Wyldside Distortion, Shock and Los Angeles Collision. New Jersey Jesters and Denver Altitude won their wildcard ocho round games to advance to the quarterfinals. In the quarters Preferred Mob, New Jersey Jesters and Los Angeles Collision all had blowout wins to stay undefeated. New Jersey Jesters took care of the business, knocking off Wyldside Distortion 5-0. Preferred Mob and BR Factory stayed perfect, each winning their semifinal round games handily, setting up a final round matchup of undefeated teams.
The final game of the semipro division was not the matchup of undefeated titans I expected. It was a one-way beatdown by Preferred Mob 6-1. It was quite the incredible event for them coming off a 22nd place showing in Tampa, going wire-to-wire without a loss. And with the second-place finish, BR Factory remains in the top spot in the season-long Semipro rankings chase.
Divisional XBall Play
Division Two XBall featured 27 teams battling for four podium spots and one first-place trophy. At the end of the preliminary rounds only Legacy Factory won their four-game set. Ontario Landsharks, CWE Power, Texas Titans, Beefy Boys and Malicious each won three. Rejects and Noobies, both two-game winners in the preliminary rounds, would advance all the way to the finals. And this final game would not disappoint. It was a tight game, the quintessential finalround slowly and carefully played game— Rejects, who finished in 12th place in Tampa, would pull off the upset over Noobies 3-2. Noobies now have 3rd and 4th place finishes, enough to keep them atop the Division Two leaderboard.
