The most difficult part of writing this coverage of the TXBL King ’ s Cup is to convey the fanfare of the opening ceremonies that took place on Friday evening . It was spectacular . The teams lined up by country , carrying their country flags , facing a the endzone grandstands where all of the dignitaries were seated . Guch and Khun X spoke to the teams and the crowd watching as did the Vice Governor of Chonburi , Mr . Adirek Unosod and others . They spoke of growing the game of paintball in Thailand , supporting the athletes and making the world smaller with international events . There were photo ops , Anthems playing , and the carrying in of the King ’ s Cup . It was a sight to behold .
Weekend Games
The games continued through the weekend and the intensity build exponentially . As the weekend wore on the grandstands filled with fans rooting for their favorite team and country . Chants of “ USA , USA , USA ” and “ Russia , Russia , Russia ” filled the air as teams from these countries took to the field . In a ridiculously fun and funny moment , fans chanted , “ Pork fried rice , pork fried rice , pork fried rice ” when the Asian teams were doing battle .
By Sunday evening the intensity was thick , the chants were loud and the play was fierce . The finals were everything a fan could hope for .
