Allan Pang of the Canyon Wise Guys had this to say , “ As a player , it was great to experience playing against the best of the best , such as pro players Jim McGowan ( Lucky 15s ), Ryan Podesta ( former pro OC Bushwackers and Team USA Masters ), Alexander Berdnikov ( Malloy ), Leonid Smotrov , Denis Golev ( Russian Red Legion ).”
This three-day event saw 41 teams from ten countries battle out across three divisions : Division One , Two and Three . There were ten Thai teams , ten Russian teams , ten Malaysian teams and a mix of 11 other teams from eight different countries including Australia , USA , UK , Japan , Philippines , Singapore , Kazakhstan and China . This truly felt like an international event .
Division Two and Three got the event started on Friday . There would be a threepoint mercy rule in place , meaning any team down by three points at any point during a match would end the match . A split deck format was used for the event in all divisions . Smoked Monkeys versus KM2 and 273 Gang versus Sausages were first up on Friday and both games were back and forth battles , both ending in 2-2 draws . A mere 43 games later , with a dozen of those games played under the lights , we were wrapping up for the night . All of the Yazvezda teams , there were four of them playing on Day One , showed grit and fight . Moo Deng , UNDRPRVLGD , SL Friends , Russian Roulette , Seattle Crusaders and Philippines are had solid Day One showings .
