The first Summit Trade show was held Monday through Wednesday following the NXL ’ s Las Vegas Major event . For those not familiar , the National Xball League ( NXL ) acquired the Paintball Extravaganza Industry Trade Show after last year ’ s event . And it was time . The Paintball Extravaganza , founded by Rick Chard in 2005 , was a great event for the industry but it had run its course . Dwindling manufacturer and paintball field owner attendance the past few years left the event in dire straits . And the NXL , who is always looking for opportunities , swooped in took over the event , changed its name and then its location .
The Summit was very Extravaganzalike , but more old Extravaganza-like than recent Extravaganza-like . The event was held in the meeting and banquet rooms of the Sahara Hotel and Casino on the Vegas Strip . And like its predecessor , the Summit featured a bevy of tech classes , marketing classes and other strategic classes for paintball field owners . In all there were about 110 paintball fields represented and just over 200 attendees .
In addition to the classes , the Summit featured an industry-only trade show with all of the big name ( and many smaller names ) movers-and-shakers in the game . Planet Eclipse , GI Sportz , Valken , Virtue , Dye , Luxe , D3FI , HK Army , Ninja Paintball and about 20 other companies were present and accounted for .
