There are always sights to see as the characters immerse themselves in a willful suspension of disbelief , leave the so-called reality of their regular lives behind , and allow their paintball characters to take full form . One notable character this year was Archie Seal with his ridiculously over-sized Minecraft-style monstrosity of a sniper rifle that he dragged around the field all weekend . At an estimated six-feet in length , the marker was longer than he is tall and if nothing less , it was a sight to behold .
The red team was headed by Tim Grimstead and his XO Josh Goya Rodriguez of Apex Predators , and they got a huge jump on recruitment for this year ’ s Bones . In the lead up to the event , the Red pre-registrations massively outnumbered those of the Blue team sending shock into the blue wave of ‘ 24 . On the other side , commanded by Rob “ Slim ” Maryland with XOs Brian “ Echo ” DeJesus of the Nomads and Noah “ Gremlin ” Vance of Mad Frog by his side , the Blue team would have an uphill battle to fight , literally and figuratively , in absolutely every facet from the jump .
The game was hard fought . There was a back-and-forth battle on the field and in the ravines all weekend long and there was never a point where one team had significant field control . The Tyvek suits came out and the role players were seemingly everywhere , weaving between the gunfights and executing missions .
