CPX loves to bring in the new year of the Legends Event Series in the most savage , spectacular way possible with Bones and Ashes . We once again find ourselves during the end of winter in sunny Fayetteville , NC , and better weather could not have been found . This opening event is becoming the one of the most popular slugfests in paintball pitting team vs . team vs . animals ( not real animals , just really intense , senseless human beings ).
This is the 6th installation of this incredible storyline , possibly ushering in the second 3-peat in this event ’ s history . Chuck “ Clutch ” Garza , from the Head Hunterz , and his Ceres Metal Industries ( Red team ) are hoping to bring home their third win in a row . This year ’ s contender for the crown is none other than Rob Maryland , from Carnage , and his wild band of misfits , the Corean Consortiom ( Blue team ). DJ Honu Fox , legendary producer , who is very familiar with big games , is ready to guide the 900 + paintballers in attendance down a yellow brick road of chaos at 280 feet per second . Will Chuck find himself with as many titles as his predecessor Joe Perez or will we crown a new victor in the eternal halls of glory ?
CPX events generally take many , many months of preparation from all parties involved , with production staff inventing and reinventing shenanigans , players making travel arrangements with the occasional jeering meme , and field staff fully engulfed in preparation . In the official schedule the savagery and fellowship starts on the Friday before the great battle . Many players come in early for the event to register , to beat that colossal Saturday morning line , and to take part in early , pregame debauchery with long lost friends and family . CPX hosted a dodgeball event for all willing participants . There is no better way to start off a paintball event than hurling rubber , air filled , hate missiles at one another . There was joy at all age ranges .
