From the beginning , our focus was always on corporate outings and groups . It is just as easy to book a group as it is an individual .
This took us a while to figure out but we realized that a hard-core paintball player doesn ’ t always make a good paintball ambassador ( although a few notable exceptions do exist ). We seek out and train casual players that become our customer service ambassadors and promote a memorable experience .
In 1991 the International Amateur Open ( IAO ) was born . There were other “ pro money ” events in place at the time but their formats did not allow for younger teams to participate on a competitive level . The concept of the IAO was to grow the sport at the amateur level and bring in new competitive players .
Paintball has been a wild ride from the early days when we had to overcome the stigma of “ survival ” guys running through the woods wearing face paint and pointing “ guns ” at each other . We had crude markers , pathetic eye and face protection and terrible paint that would either roll out the barrel or explode before leaving it . We lived through zoning issues , insurance issues , regulatory issues , market downturns and now pandemics . But it was all worth it . I met my wife , had our daughter Alex who now runs the business , and some great folks along the way with some lifelong friendships . Grateful for all of it and I wouldn ’ t change a thing .
