You promoted tournaments all over the world for decades . What was your all-time favorite event that you promoted , attended or played in with the Mayhem Tigers ?

As I have been involved in tournaments since 1988 and still am , it ’ s very difficult to answer the question . There were lots of highlights over the years , but I have picked two events — one as a player and one as an organizer that have great memories . ( I ’ ve tried to pin down dates & these are my best guesses ; they are roughly right ).
As a player the events I enjoyed the most were Jim Lively and Sam Caldwell ’ s Nashville Masters events . It was from these that myself and Paul Wilson , with Jim ’ s blessing , decided to try to replicate these in the U . K . as The Mayhem Masters . I went to many of these , but I ’ m going to pick 1991 as the standout year . My team at the time , the Mayhem Tigers , were judges in the five-man and played in the ten-man . The wonderful thing about Nashville events was the enjoyment and fun factor . People enjoyed being there and the social side of the event was always a blast . A huge number of players stayed at The Holiday Inn and the Hotel Bar , ( I think it was called “ The Sweetwater Bar ”) was fantastic . Once a week they use to have a talent competition where the winner was established by crowd applause and won a Nashville recording session . On this year , my teammate John Cashmore put his name in the hat , got picked to play , ( I guess they thought “ Big John Cashmore ” was a country and western act ), supported by the paintball crowd and to the total distain of the organizer , he won .
