What idea or concept are you most proud of from all of your years in paintball ?
I ’ m really proud of the three tournament games I played with the Werewolves that executed exactly according to plan . I ’ m really proud of Rose Griffiths giving a speech at Paintfest 2000 where she told everyone that “ while it was true that Steve Davidson was crazy , it was the right kind of crazy .” I ’ m proud of many of the articles I wrote over the years , including the second book written about paintball tactics ( Maxing : A Guide to Winning Tournament Play ). I ’ m equally proud of Bob Long seeking my counsel when it came to how a particular field at the DC Open should be played ; proud of being asked to help teach classes at Renick and Bob ’ s paintball school ; proud of being a certified Cocker and Mag tech ; proud of being told by Mike Lyons , captain of the then National Championship Team ( LRRPS ), that the Werewolves deserved — needed--to play on the national circuit . And proud of shots and plays I made during
various games that remain legendary , at least in my own mind ( like the time I shot out 5 NE Express players in Boston all by myself , or the four Ironmen I took off the field in Vegas playing with the TX Black Diamonds ).
I ’ m equally proud , in an ironic way , of walking around the World Cup with Forest Hatcher and overhearing a handful of young idjits saying “ What are those old farts doing here ?”
But if you were to sum it all up and can place everything I tried to do , as well as the things accomplished , under one banner , it would have to be everything-- from the ranking and scheduling , keeping the statistics ; ; writing the Team vs Team stat analysis for PCRI ; the “ Sports Section ” for Paintball News ; and the NPSRS / WPF Monthly reports for any magazine that
