In hindsight , was Hyperball and Airball a good thing or bad thing for the game of paintball ?
For the sport of paintball , Hyperball and Sup ’ Airball have been a very good thing and a major development of the sport for many reasons . It helps to promote the game and the sport , simply bring paintball to light , giving it more visibility than playing in the woods . And it allowed spectators and media to watch games .
There was a huge change in perception by the public and media in countries like Germany and others with colorful jerseys and guns . While this was probably a minor change in the U . S ., it was a huge step in the promotion of the paintball in the world . And it also created a new industry for products dedicated to tournament players .
On a different level but also as important , the equity of a paintball game . In the woods depending on which side of the field you were starting , you knew if could win or not . There were too many unfair situations , it was too difficult to ref and there was too much cheating . Hyperball and airball solved all of these problems .
