A chaotic fourth point ended wth Ranger losing the body count and running nearly 40 seconds off the clock to tie the match at two with 1:17 remaining on the clock, which led to a throwaway point that took the match to a five-minute, sudden-death overtime.
The overtime started with a wild breakout. The snake player for Ranger lost his hopper off break, and he had to slide back from the corner tower to retrieve it. In the chaos, ALA was caught off guard, and crisp shooting from the other four Rangers would drop two to give them a 5-3 body advantage. They applied heavy pressure up the middle of the field, and Staniaszek answered- evening the count and moving pressure toward the snake side, but with his attention focused to the left, Chavez took the opportunity to sneek though the under-ultized dorito side and snag the buzzer to give Ranger the 3-win and the gold medal.
The fireworks brought by the Polish contingent set a tone for what is to come in the European series for 2026, and Dawid Staniaszek certainly had his moment. We will see if thesy can maintain their dominance in Brimingham, UK as the NXL EU makes its next stop there for the British Invitational July 3-5.

The WNXL in Europe is a growing work in progress and not nearly as establiched as its American partner league. For this event four all-women teams woud do battle: Belladonna, Karma, Drakaina and Sposed Competition. The preliminary round was a simple four team round robin. The heavily favored Belladonna swept the bracket, with Karma winning two games, Drakaina taking ine and Sposed Competition taking an o-fer.
In the semifinals Balladonna took out Sposed Competition 5-0 and Karma won a hard-fought battle over Drakaina 4-3. This set up a final round battle between two solid teams— Belladonna and Karma. Belladonna would go wire-to-wire without a loss, taking home the first place win.
