The International Classic Paintball League( ICPL), now in its seventh season, has become the go-to league for serious fans of classic tournament paintball. Much like the game was played in the 90s, the ICPL’ s format features ten and fiveman woodsball play, Hyperball and hybrid fields that contain elements of both. The fields were named Hyperball, Trench and Cargo for this event.
The game is played with a 100-point max scoring system, again, similar to the early days of ten-man tournament paintball. Points are given and lost for flag pulls, flag hangs, eliminations and being eliminated. There are two preliminary round divisions, with each team playing every other team in their division.
For 2025 the league’ s schedule has three events: The Old Bay Classic, Pittsburgh Open Classic and the International Classic Cup.
Location
For the fourth time since the ICPL was formed back in 2019, the event was held at the original OXCC in Chesapeake City, Maryland. Brian and Kristy Barno, owners of OXCC have built an incredible paintball field that has become a staple in the Mid Atlantic region for scenario games, tournaments and one that has grown the local game at the grass roots level. The versatility of OXCC provides more than enough woodsball, Hyperball and hybrid fields, as well as parking for even the biggest events.
