“ There was a replica bazooka that had been floating around all weekend. It just showed up every now and again,” he said.“ I got a call over comms saying that‘ Mario’ [ the head of the Black Market, a role played by Daniel“ Barney” Alamo ] wants to trade for a bazooka.’”
“ The codes were a pain in my ass all weekend, so I thought‘ If I’ m not going to need this thing for a mission, I’ m just going to trade the bazooka for codes.’”
Apparently, that was a mistake.
“ As soon as I made that trade, Jack came over and yelled at me saying‘ Ike wants his prototype bazooka back!’” he laughed.“ I thought I had screwed myself for the whole weekend.”
On the opposing side, the Axis, there was an equal amount of trepidation around the potential for shenanigans from the production team. As the only guy in command for either team who has Commanded a Cypher Scenario event, John“ Sandman” Russell came into the game with leg up. He knew that Cypher’ s goal is to mess with the commanders whenever, and wherever they can. And that is why Axis Commander John Lake was happy to have him.
“ It was definitely a huge learning curve for me,” Lake said.“ With as many scenario games as I have played in my life, I do have some experience to draw upon. But this was my first Cypher game.”
Lake went on to say that Sandman’ s experience was critical, but even he was thrown by some of the new elements in this game.
