For a long time , the tournament paintball scene in New Hampshire has been lacking . The closing of long time recreational fields and speedball only indoor facilities alike has left a hole . Lasting through it has been AG Paintball whose owner , Aric Lantiegne , has been putting in an incredible effort to grow the scene . During the previous winter AG paintball carved out some of their recreational play area to build a brand new hyperball field . A layout somewhat modern in its design rather than relying on the nostalgia of tournaments past to bring players to it . Brand new netting , as well as a player ’ s favorite brand new compressor were also included . “ Wow , I think I can fill to 4500 every time ” was a popular statement around the field .
The first event ever on the field was a 5-man event called the “ 32 Degrees Classic ” back in February . Paving the way for the excitement of a 10-man tournament . This event was the first full 10 man tournament on it , as well as the first 10 man tournament in New Hampshire itself in close to 20 years with plans for more in the future .
Twelve teams were signed up for this inaugural 10-man event with the clear favorites being the OG Hurricanes , a team made players who earned their pro status in the days of PSP Xball and NPPL 7 man . Though most have since retired from high divisional play .
Day 1 of prelims went mostly as expected , with one notable exception . The OG Hurricanes were undefeated of course but the surprise was the Anti-Heroes , a mostly scenario team , going 4-1 and being in second place . Rounding out the top 4 were Canobie Paintball Factory team in 3rd and Joe Exotic in 4th . Only 16 points separated places 2-4 and the three teams all ended the day 4-1 .
