The Games
The ICPL ’ s Open five-man took place on Friday , the first day of the event . Thirteen teams entered and seven of those would advance past the preliminary rounds . ac : Evilpb . com took a first game loss but came back to win six of its next seven games and headed straight to the finals . Mutiny , Ground Zero , Fight Club , ac : Powerhouse , Florida Annihilators and AAF2 would all advance to the semifinals .
The five-man open semifinals consisted of two , three-team divisions . Making it to the finals would require winning your division . And that ’ s exactly what ac : Powerhouse and Ground Zero did — and they would meet ac : Evilpb . com there to battle for first place .
In the finals it was all ac : Powerhouse as they won both of their games with perfect 100-point scores . Ac : Evilpb . com would take second by virtue of their win over Ground Zero , who took third .
