With the forecast for the weekend looking more like the middle of August and not mid to late May , the NEPXL held its second event of the season in nearly 90 degree heat . Matt Jones Pro NXL Referee had his ten-man crew ready to go and the Evil paint was shooting money . There were 12 teams represented in each of the D3 and D4 divisions so the competition was fierce to see which squads would move on .
The Knights of AG Paintball coached by Will Mclean and the Mass Assassins and owner Rob Dever earned byes into the semis for the D4 division , while Voltage and Invasion did the same for their respective D3 division .
The quarter finals of D4 saw Syndicate fall to Ruckus 4-0 which was ultimately decided by the final point with syndicate starting down two with a dirty hang the point earlier . What looked like Syndicate pulling the match to a one point 1-2 deficit ended up 3-0 and starting two bodies down . Northern Storm defeated MFKZ to move onto the semifinals . The D3 quarter finals Axemen went on to beat Legends and Power defeated Infamous in close matches .
